Isolated rain in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and costal Karnataka and at a few places over south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, north interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres:

Sringeri (Chickmagalur dt.) and Linganamakki (Shimoga dt.) 10 each, Talaguppa (Shimoga dt.) and Vaikom (Kottayam dt.) 9 each, Valparai 8 and Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt.) 7 each.

FORECAST (valid until Friday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at many places over south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at a few places over north interior Ka rnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh.
