This Day That Age
Mr. Georgi Malenkov, a former Soviet Prime Minister and one of the Soviet leaders dismissed last week from the Communist Party Presidium, has been appointed manager of a power station 2,000 miles from Moscow in the far east “virgin lands.” Announcing this on July 10, Moscow Radio said the appointment proved that the Soviet Communist Party “is not in the habit of taking petty revenge.” The radio said the leaders concerned had been “transferred” to other work but it made no reference to the jobs allotted to the others who include the former Deputy Premiers, Molotov and Kaganovich.
