‘Followers could “practise Naam Charcha” in their own homes if they liked’ ‘No instructions has been issued to prevent the people from visiting the Gurdwara in Ratia’
CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government has issued instructions that the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda not be allowed to use any public place or loudspeakers for their scheduled “Naam Charcha” on Thursday at Ratia in Fatehabad district, State Chief Secretary Prem Prashant told media persons here on Wednesday. He categorically said that followers of the sect could “practise Naam Charcha” in their own homes if they liked. This decision had been taken to maintain peace, he added. He said tension had been defused following the Akal Takht decision to defer the conclave of Sikhs at Ratia on Wednesday. The Deputy Commissioner of Fatehabad had informed him that the situation was normal as some people had visited the Gurdwara at Ratia but returned after paying obeisance. While asserting that the State Government would protect life and property of the people, he clarified that no instructions had been issued to prevent the people from visiting the Gurdwara in Ratia. The State Government was in touch with the Punjab Government and Chief Ministers of both the States too were in touch with each other. He reiterated that efforts were being made to connect Faridabad with the Delhi Metro network in the first phase of the project.
