Arrack sachets recovered

CHAMARAJANAGAR: The police recovered 164 bags containing 60,000 arrack sachets valued at Rs. 6.9 lakh in the Chikkahole reservoir backwaters area in the taluk on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shivakumar visited the area and recovered the arrack sachets. Arrack vendors have stocked arrack in various places in the district and are selling it. But the recent police action forced them to dump arrack sachets in the reservoir area.
