KOCHI: Officials of the Revenue Department on Wednesday recovered 15.67 acres of land held by a private company for alleged violation of the lease agreement. A Revenue team led by District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish recovered the land held by Crompton Greaves at Athani, which falls under the Nedumbassery village limits. The property which is in the neighbourhood of the Cochin International Airport is valued at Rs. 100 crore as per the current market rate. The title deed held by the company was cancelled and the property was attached to the Government. The buildings on the land were sealed and boards announcing the ownership of the State over the land were placed in front of the main entrance. The recovery was made under Government Order (GOM 259/2007) issued by Revenue Principal Secretary Nivedita. P. Haran on July 9. The conditions in the title deed specifically stated that the land should be used solely for industrial purposes.
