Tiny tot’s amazing memory

Two year-old Sri Abhirami answers questions on countries, capitals, currencies, heads of nations, rivers, mountains, writers etc

ARMOOR (NIZAMABAD Dt.): Ask her the names of Presidents, national capitals or even currencies of different countries, and she replies in a jiffy.

Meet two-year-old Sri Abhirami, a child prodigy with amazing memory. Daughter of Sri Lakshmi and M. S. Raghu, she is equally at ease answering questions on the national anthem, national leaders like Gandhi, Nehru, Patel, Prakasam, Lala Lajpat Rai and Subash Chandra Bose.

Little Abhirami answers as many as 650 questions varying from countries, capitals, currencies, heads of nations, rivers, mountains, writers and inventors.

Abhirami’s parents originally hail from Tadipatri in Anantpur district and are post graduates in mathematics from Sri Krishnadevaraya University. Raghu is posted in Armoor as part of his job with the Life Insurance Corporation while his wife Sri Lakshmi takes tuitions for schoolchildren.

Abhirami’s talent came to light when she used to recall whatever her mother taught the other children during tuitions.

Poems too

Taken aback, Sri Lakshmi decided to test her daughter and recited certain poems from Telugu texts of 6th, 7th and 8th standards. Much to her surprise Abhirami repeated them without batting an eyelid. “I am also surprised at her inquisitive mind as she keeps asking questions about whatever is told to her,” Sri Lakshmi said.

Abhirami also recites the Vishnu Sahasranamam, Sanksrit sonnets and poems.

Raghu and Sri Lakshmi have decided to nurture their daughter’s talent and eventually hope that her name would figure in the record books one day.
