KOCHI: Preliminary investigations conducted by the city police into the charge that P.V. Chacko, chairman of LIS, had bribed K. Venugopal, former deputy general manager, Desabhimani, to settle the case against his firm found no evid ence of this transaction. The police team led by Sam Christie Daniel, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Narcotic Cell, conducted the investigation over the last one week. The report was submitted to City Police Commissioner Manoj Abraham on Wednesday. The investigation was made following media reports on alleged bribery. However, in the absence of evidence, no case was registered. The bank accounts of both Mr. Chacko and Mr. Venugopal were checked. The team is learnt to have got only details of transactions that LIS had made to Desabhimani through a public relations firm for releasing advertisements.
