Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala and costal Karnataka and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Isolated rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in centimetres: Kollur (Udupi dt.) 12, Mancompu (Alapuzha dt.) 11, Agumbe and Peermedu (Idukki dt.) 8 each and Thozhudhur (Cuddalore dt.) and Vadakara (Kozhikode dt.) 7 each.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka and Kerala, at many places over south interior Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and at a few place s over north interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Lakshadweep.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal Karnataka, ghat areas of south interior Karnataka and Kerala during next 48 hours.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
