Tirunelveli: Thirunagar Hockey Club, Madurai, advanced to the quarterfinals of the seventh annual Kandasamy Memorial Trophy State-level hockey tournament, organised by Jothi Sports Club, with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Chennai, at the Anna Stadium, Palayamkottai on Thursday. Others to enter the quarterfinals were Tamil Nadu State Police, Chennai, host Jothi Sports Club, and SAI, Chennai. Dudley HSS beats JRC
Dudley HSS edged past JRC HSS, Jambuliampatti, 2-0 in the 15th annual Gopalakrishnan Naidu Memorial Trophy District-level schools football tournament in Dindigul. Chandrasekar and Paul Pandy scored. In another match, SMBM HSS beat Government HSS 4-1 via tiebreaker, after the teams were locked 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
