High Court pulls up civil judge

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court has pulled up a civil judge in Dharwad for misconduct and referred the case to Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph for initiating disciplinary action.

Justice N. Kumar passed the order after the Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) complained that the civil judge had released the amount involved in a land acquisition case though he had promised to await the order of the Supreme Court before taking any action. When the matter came up, Justice Kumar expressed anguish over the conduct of the judicial officer. He said such conduct needed to be deprecated and referred the matter to the Chief Justice. — Staff Reporter
