RECRUITMENT drive: A section of candidates, who turned up for selection of women police constable, at Armed Reserve Ground in the city on Thursday.
MADURAI: Over 1,100 candidates took part in the physical fitness test conducted for recruitment of women police constables at the Armed Reserve Grounds here on Thursday. Out of the 1,500 candidates called for the test, 379 absented themselves and 594 qualified for the July 29 written examination. After certificate verification, the women participated in physical fitness tests, including running. Another over 800 candidates would take up the test on Friday. The Deputy Inspector General, Sunil Kumar Singh, and the Madurai Superintendent of Police, T.S. Anbu, were present.
