Thrissur: Padmanabhan, 50, of Chakkiyangal House in Adimali, was on Thursday arrested on charges of having assaulted a couple and robbed them of 30 sovereigns of gold. Sudhakaran of Madambikattil in Vellanikkara and his wife Siva had complained to the police that a three-member gang broke into their house at 2.30 a.m. on July 8. The couple were allegedly assaulted, gagged and tied up. Prabhakaran was arrested from Chembutra. The police said they were looking for two other accused in the case.
