Bidar: Officials of the Bidar City Municipal Council went on a snap strike on Friday protesting against the alleged assault of two of its employees by a former CMC member. The alleged that former member Shridhar Bangle had entered the office in an inebriated condition and assaulted CMC officials Vaijanath Swamy and Lakshmikanth S. They said that he used unparliamentary language and disrupted their work. The employees’ association president Ramesh L Rao said that the employees would not resume work till action was initiated against the accused. Police officials and the CMC Commissioner H.R. Prasad intervened and assured them that appropriate action would be initiated. The strike was withdrawn after the assurance. The two employees have registered a police complaint at the new town police station.
