Increase in scholarships

CHENNAI: The Managing Committee of the Tamil Nadu Educational Trust on Friday decided to increase the amount of scholarship for academic year 2007-08 for graduate courses from Rs.3,500 to Rs.4,000; for postgraduate courses from Rs.4,000 to Rs.4,500; and professional courses from Rs.4,500 to Rs.5,000.

At a meeting presided over by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, it was decided to provide scholarships to 50 more students and extend the increased scholarship amount to students already receiving the scholarship, according to a Raj Bhavan statement. — Special Correspondent
