SHIMLA: Considering the historical importance of a large number of buildings here built during British rule, the Himachal Pradesh government has initiated work to restore their original structure, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Friday. Services of world renowned restoration architects, experts and planners have been requisitioned to advise the state government about the possibility of restoration of such monuments in Shimla which was the summer capital of British rulers, he said after inspecting the restoration work under progress in Gaiety Theatre. The effort started from the Gaiety Theatre where restoration work started almost four years ago and was nearing completion. The Chief Minister said Gaiety Theatre would be restored to its original architecture.- PTI
