Crafts on sale

Bangalore: The crafts of Gujarat are one of the most colourful in the country. Garvi-Gurjari, the Gujarat State Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation emporium is holding a sale here. The sale started on Friday and will go on till July 22. Handicrafts and handlooms from across Gujarat are up for grabs, with a discount of up to 10 per cent on the items.
The corporation aims to identify, revive and develop handicrafts and handlooms in Gujarat with a view to creating sustainable employment options to artisans and weavers. Inputs are also provided to help add a “contemporary” touch to the products, which are then marketed through the Garvi-Gurjari chain of emporia across the country.
The exhibition-cum-sale is on at Chitrakala Parishat, Kumara Krupa Road.
