Woman dies as container falls on hut

CHENNAI: A 60-year-old woman died on the spot when the container of a lorry fell on her hut on Thursday night.

Police said the lorry running on the Ennore Express Highway reportedly met with an accident when the driver attempted to avoid hitting another vehicle. Then, the container of the lorry fell over the hut and killed Ranjitham. A few other neighbours were also injured. The police have registered a case. The body was sent to Stanley Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
