Two ‘gangsters’ nabbed

NEW DELHI: Two members of the notorious Kishan Pahelwan gang have been arrested at Najafgarh here for alleged involvement in several criminal cases.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap near Jai Ambay Farmhouse on Jhathikara Road and arrested Yatender Kumar and Rajpal after a brief encounter. A country-made pistol and a knife were allegedly seized.

During interrogation, Yatender purportedly confessed to his close association with Kishan Pahelwan. He along with Kishan Pahelwan was arrested in 1998 in connection with a criminal case. Yatender, who has studied up to the university level, fell into bad company and took to crime in 1996, the police said.
