Bank’s gesture to New Life Centre

TAMBARAM: State Bank of Hyderabad would bear the medical expenses of 110 residents at the New Life Centre in Eraiyur village near Sriperumbudur for one year. This was announced by Amitabha Guha, Managing Director of the bank, here on Friday after a visit to the centre.
Mr. Guha said the bank, which had a strong presence in Andhra Pradesh, north Karnataka and Marathwada region of Maharashtra, earmarked about Rs.60 lakhs every year for community development projects and covering the medical expenses of New Life Centre inmates would be part of this. He also dedicated a diesel-powered generator to the centre, founded in 1991, where 60 children and 50 senior citizens are staying.
He visited the centre after the inauguration of the bank’s Tambaram branch on the Mudichur Road.
With this, the number of branches in the Chennai region has gone up to 19.
