CHENNAI: The State Government should come out with a White Paper on the prevalence of naxalite elements in the State, Bharatiya Janata Party State vice-president H. Raja demanded on Friday.

Referring to the recent arrest of CPI (Maoist) leader Sundaramoorthy and two others, Mr. Raja said Tamil Nadu had become a naxalite-infested State.

Investigation necessary

The administration should conduct a thorough investigation and find out the sources of support to the naxalite forces.

“If the police remains lax, there is every possibility of Tamil Nadu turning into another Andhra Pradesh,” the BJP leader told reporters.

He urged the Government to release water immediately from the Mettur dam as the level would touch 95 feet in a few days.

There would be more inflow to the dam in the wake of reservoirs in Karnataka, including the Krishnaraja Sagar, attaining full level.
