“Reinstate Panikkar”

NEW DELHI: The All India Federation of University and College Teachers’ Organisations (AIFUCTO) on Friday demanded the immediate reinstatement of Shivaji Panikkar, suspended Dean-in-Charge of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda.

The Federation has threatened to launch a nationwide agitation if Prof. Panikkar is not reinstated by July 28 when the AIFUCTO National Executive Committee is due to meet in Puducherry.

Condemning the attack on Prof. Panikkar in Ahmedabad last week, the AIFUCTO has also sought the Prime Minister’s intervention.
