REL gets clearance for Dadri project

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government on Friday said the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Energy’s proposed 3,740 MW power project at Dadri in Ghaziabad district has been given environmental clearance by the Centre.

In a written reply to a question in the Vidhan Sabha, Minister for Energy Ramveer Upadhya said 40 per cent of the power generated by the company would be given to Uttar Pradesh. The State Government entered into an agreement with the company on June 16, 2004. — PTI
