The scores: A-division (three-day) league: India Cements 197 and 230 for five decl. (Samiullah Khan 64, P.S. Niranjan 64, L.N. Tiwari four for 80) drew with AOC 225 and 105 for four. A-division (two-day) league: CCOB 191 (Hemanth Dillikar 59, Habeeb Ahmed 40) and 264 (Mohib-ur-Rehman 121 not out, Shakeel 67, Aziz six for 78) drew with Ours 159 (Aziz 46, Md. Springfield Football Club defeated Social Sporting 4-1 in the Salar-e-Millat Challenge Cup football tournament at the Quli Qutub Shah stadium here. The winner led 3-0 at the break with Mohd. Ali netting a brace and Yousuf striking once. In the second session, Springfield increased the lead to 4-0 with Shuja on target. Krishna District Athletic Association office-bearers on Friday congratulated Asha Mary and P. Siva Ram, who won gold and bronze medals respectively in the junior Federation Cup concluded at Madhurai recently. Asha Mary won a gold in javelin, while P. Siva Rao was part of the AP 4x100 relay team. Both athletes are trainees of Centre of Excellence in Athletics based at Nagarjuna University. Southwest volleyball
Vijayawada-based NTR University of Health Sciences will organise Southwest volleyball tournament for women in November, according to university physical director P. Tirumurthi.
