HASSAN: Excise staff continued their raid in Chennaraypatna taluk in Hassan district on Friday and seized arrack sachets valued at Rs. 18.59 lakh. Sources in the Excise Department said 63,000 arrack sachets packed in 90 gunny bags valued Rs. 3.51 lakh were found in the Hemavathi left bank canal. On Mysore road near Kaggali Kavalu, the staff seized arrack sachets packed in 120 bags valued at Rs. 4.68 lakh. At Valagere Somanahalli, they recovered 50,000 arrack sachets. At Kaggali Kavalu, miscreants threw 30,000 arrack sachets into a tank.
