Bangalore: The State Government has decided to observe the birth centenary of the former Chief Minister Kadidal Manjappa with a series of programmes spread over a year, beginning July 17. Announcing this at a press conference here on Friday, Minister for Kannada and Culture H.S. Mahadeva Prasad said various literary programmes would be held to commemorate the occasion. A book on his life and a collection of photographs would be brought out on the occasion. Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy would inaugurate the birth centenary celebrations here on July 17, the Minister said. A photo exhibition would be held on the occasion. Seminars on Manjappa would be organised in Shimoga and Chikmagalur. The valedictory function of the centenary celebrations would be held at Kadidal village in Tirtahalli taluk, the Minister said.
