Praveen Kumar scored 164 as Tiruchi defeated Tiruvannamalai by virtue of its first innings lead and advanced to the next stage of the TNCA under-15 inter-district cricket tournament here on Saturday. The scores: At Tiruchi: Tiruvannamalai 309 in 82.4 overs & 90 for seven in 20.2 overs (D. Seenuvasan 50, G. Shavan three for 37) vs. Tiruchi 320 in 86.4 overs (N. Praveen Kumar 164, R. Ragavendran 62, E. Dinakaran four for 89). (Ti ruchi won by virtue of its first innings lead). At Cuddalore: Cuddalore 327 for six in 80 overs (Sivaprakash 101 not out, Kugan 88, Pradeep Prabhakar 30) & 49 for two in 13 overs vs. Villupuram 192 in 78.1 overs (Raja 76). (Cuddalore won by virtue of its first innings lead). At Coimbatore: Coimbatore 359 for six decl. in 74 overs (Dheer Bhimani 70, S. Karthick 69, Aushik Srinivas 105 not out) vs. Sivaganga 121 in 47 overs (Stephen 43, Bharath Chezhian three for 39, S. Karthick three for eight) & 123 for eight in 35 overs (Jithu Venkatraman 62, M. Hari Prasad four for 23).
