Facelift for Muttukadu boat yard

Eight-seater speed boats, adventure, eco and beach tourism are coming

new attraction: Four new eight-seater boats will be introduced at Muttukadu boat house on Sunday.

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) is introducing new boating attractions at Muttukadu boat house on Sunday.

One of the initiatives is the induction of four new 8-seater speed boats.

Detailing the improvements at the Muttukadu boating yard taken up at a cost of Rs.67 lakh, Director of Tourism and Managing Director of TTDC M. Rajaram said the cost of each 8-seater boat was Rs.1,54,300 and with the induction of the four new boats, the fleet strength of Muttukadu boating yard went up to 59.

The TTDC, Mr. Rajaram noted, was drawing up newer strategies for promoting adventure, eco, and beach tourism.

The new tourist attraction will be formally inaugurated by State Tourism Minister N. Suresh Rajan, in the presence of State Labour Minister T.M. Anbarasan, and Secretary Incharge of Tourism and Culture Department T.S. Sridhar.
