Clarification

In the report “Desist from acting against Archakas” published in The Hindu on July 13, the order should read “The Bench passed this order after hearing senior counsel P.K. Goswami (not Raju Ramachandran as reported ) for the petitioners and Sanjay Hegde for Karnataka government.

Further there was no specific order permitting the State to take over management of temples. It was only an oral observation made to the State counsel.
