PATNA: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday expressed concern on developments in Pakistan and demanded that Delhi extend any help Islamabad might seek to wipe out terrorism in its country. BJP president Rajnath Singh expressed anxiety over the situation in Pakistan and, what he described as, the continuing Masjid-Musharaff ‘jang’(confrontation). Keep a close watch
New Delhi needed to keep a close watch, particularly because Pakistan happened to be a nuclear power, and not allow the jehadis to lay their hands on the nuclear weapons, he said. India should suspend its peace talks with Islamabad till the situation normalised across the border, he suggested. International vigil
He called for an international vigil on the situation in Pakistan. Mr. Singh attacked the UPA government for going soft on terrorism. He said the Congress nurtured the wrong notion that Muslims would be offended if it took action against terrorists. “Terrorists don’t have a religion or a creed. If it had been so, Masjids would not have been attacked, nor the Samjhauta Express.”
