It is alarming to learn that the prices of vegetables are at an all-time high and are adversely affecting the lower and middle income groups. The untimely heavy rain across the State is the reason for the shortage of vegetables. The rain washed away standing crops and caused a huge loss to farmers. The common man is the worst sufferer of the soaring prices. However, the Government should immediately intervene and check the soaring prices of vegetables. . M. Nazeeruddin, Kurnool Study of history
In the article “History – does it make sense”, the author presents history by setting aside its merits. The study of history has its own uses for the development of the individual and society at large. The study enables us to learn lessons, both from the failures and successes of our forefathers and rulers, only if we take it in the right spirit. The most impressive passage in Arnold Toynbee’s book of world history as quoted by Rajaji some decades ago in his convocation address at Nagpur University which runs: “History is a dim and partial version of God, revealing himself in action to souls that sincerely seek Him … Among the immemorable angles, the historians angle is only one, but like the others it makes a distinctive contribution of its own to mankind.” Let us not despise all that is old. R. Dwarakanatha Rao, Guntakal Welcome suggestion

G. Sreenivasa Murthy, Kadapa
