BJP opposes water meters

City unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday alleged that the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation was trying to fit water meters from the backdoor.

Party’s city unit secretary M. Srinivas, in a statement here, said that poor people residing in the city were not in a position to bear the burden of water charges and demanded that the proposal be withdrawn.
