Visakhapatnam
VISAKHAPATNAM: A final year student of GMR Institute of Information Technology produced a documentary titled ‘Street Diaries’ on the plight of street children. Shot in Visakhapatnam, the film with duration of 18 minutes and 40 seconds has dialogues in English and Telugu. It is aimed at generating awareness on the problems faced by the children of lesser gods and how the society could discharge its responsibility for providing them food and other basic amenities along with education. C.S.V. Sekhar, whose father is an industrialist, mom a singer and brother an NRI, said that his family and friends encouraged him a lot to produce the documentary. He said he would campaign for enlisting the support of higher education students to offer counselling to the street children to go to school. CPI (M) protest
The CPI (M) on Sunday conducted extensive protests in over 150 venues in the municipal corporation limits launching yet another struggle for house-sites, houses and ‘pattas’ (title deeds) to the poor. The protest was organized following a call given by the party’s State unit.
