Isha loses

NEW DELHI: Isha Lakhani lost 6-2, 2-6, 3-6 to the seventh-seeded Vlada Ekshibarova of Uzbekistan in the final of the $10,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament at Khonkan, Thailand.

In the quarterfinals she got past Jessy Rompies of Indonesia 6-4, 6-7(1), 6-3. Isha won her semifinal 6-1, 6-1 against Vivien Silfany-Tony of Indonesia.

Sanaa Bhambri lost in the quarterfinals 3-6, 2-6 to the eventual champion Ekshibarova, while Ankita went down 1-6, 3-6 to Etsuko Kitazaki of Japan in the second round.
