THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Russian Culture Centre here will organise programmes in the last week of August to celebrate the international Russian language week.

Experts from India and Russia will take part in seminars on Russian language and literature. A three-day camp will be organised for young writers, director of the Russian Culture Centre Ratheesh Nair said on Monday.

The Centre will felicitate scholars who have earned doctorates in Russian language and literature. Doyens of Malayalam literature like O. N. V. Kurup and Perumbadavam Sreedharan who have close links with the Russian language will also be honoured.

The inaugural ceremony will feature cultural programmes by Russian artists. These programmes will be held at the Gorky Bhavanam and venues across the city.
