Chandigarh: A Congress MLA from Moga in Punjab was on Monday detained by police in connection with a case of alleged hawala transactions. Joginder Jain was detained by police for violation of Conservation of Foreign Exchange and Prevention of Smuggling Activities Act (COFEPOSA), 1974. Punjab Police had received an order from Enforcement Directorate (ED) to detain Jain -- considered to be among the richest person in the state -- on July 14, sources said.
