Census on MI sources

Chittoor: The fourth census of minor irrigation (MI) sources and its ayacut will be taken up in the district on July 25, said Fazullulla, Superindent Engineer, Irrigation.

A meet of Mandal Revenue Officers, irrigation and ground water officials and Panchayat Raj engineers was held here on Tuesday to discuss the process of undertaking census of minor irrigation sources in the district. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Fazullulla said census of minor irrigation sources and its ayacut will be taken up once in 5 years. The main aim of undertaking the census is to find out the number of sources and its ayacut in order to prepare a plan to develop them.
