Metro smart cards now for Rs 50

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced that Metro smart cards can be purchased for a minimum value of Rs.50 as against the earlier minimum of Rs.100. In addition, a security deposit of Rs.50, which is refundable, will continue to be charged. The value in the smart card can be increased in multiples of Rs.50 up to a maximum of Rs.800. At present, 5.23 lakh passengers have bought smart cards and about 1.9 lakh daily commuters use the smart cards on the Metro.
