THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader O. Rajagopal has appealed to the voters in Kerala for the President election to `rise above their narrow political affiliations’ and cast their vote in favour of his party nominee Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Rajagopal argued that President’s election should be kept above the routine political considerations and constitutionally no party had the right to issue whip in favour of a particular candidate in this case. He claimed that Mr. Shekhawat had an impeccable image and had discharged his duties effectively in an unbiased manner as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and as Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
