Ramachandran Kadannappally facing rebellion.
KOCHI: Fissures in the Congress(S), a constituent of the Left Democratic Front (LDF), have come to the fore with party general secretary P. Kuhikannan and Indian National Labour Congress (labour wing of the party) president Muttam Abdulla raising allegations against party State president Ramachandran Kadannappally. At a press conference here on Tuesday, they alleged that Mr. Kadannappally was trying to make an alliance with the Democratic Indira Congress (Left) without waiting for an approval by the executive committee of the party. Mr. Kunhikannan said a majority of the party’s executive committee members were opposed to such an alliance. The executive committee will meet in Ernakulam on July 22 to evaluate the situation and take appropriate action. Mr. Kunhikannan alleged that Mr. Kadannappally had not convened the party’s executive committee after the Assembly elections though it should have been convened every month. He accused Mr. Kadannappally of adopting an autocratic style of functioning.
