Mar Athanasius College of Engineering which was established in the year 1961 under the auspices of the Mar Athanasius College Association is the first engineering college in Asia in the private sector under a Christian management. The courses offered in this college are four year B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and M.Tech programmes in Mechanical and Civil branches. In addition, the college has postgraduate programme in Computer Application (MCA) too. Members of the faculty have MTech and Ph.D qualification acquired from the premier institutions like IIT’s. All the departments have got excellent laboratory and computer facilities with the state of the art technology. A Training and Placement Cell (T&P) has been set up to provide training and placement for every student. The T&P cell is providing guidance in appearing for competitive examinations like GATE, GRE, GMAT and TOFEL. In the year 2003, the National Board of Accreditation conferred accreditation to Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Departments of the college.
