Rupee closes barely steady

MUMBAI: The rupee ended up at 40.36/37 against the U.S. currency on Tuesday on alternate bouts of buying and selling. In a lacklustre activity at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian currency resumed strong at 40.32/34 a dollar from Monday’s close of 40.3700/3750. Later, it was trapped in a narrow range of 40.32 and 40.3750 on lack of any major trigger either side. — PTI
