Poojashree-Janaki clinch title

Mysore: The Mysore-based Poojashree Venkatesh and Hyderabad’s Janaki Gunuganti won the girls’ under-18 doubles title in the Palm Hills International junior grade III ITF tournament held at Egypt recently.

The Indian pair registered a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 victory over Lina Bennani (Morocco) and Paula Ormaechea (Argentina) in the final.

In the singles event, Poojashree lost in the semifinals to Argentina’s Paula Ormaechea 5-7, 3-6.
