Forty-year-old autorickshaw driver S. Purushothaman, who was featured in a news item in The Hindu on Tuesday, will soon be felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) for being a “cultural ambassador” of the city.
“Tamil Nadu and Chennai need more Purushothamans to help build the brand ‘Enchanting Tamil Nadu’,” M. Rajaram, Director of Tourism and Managing Director of the Corporation, said on Tuesday.
The Corporation plans to bestow the honour on Mr. Purushothaman on July 19 to coincide with the inaugural function of a ‘Guide Training Course’ to be held at the Anna Institute of Management, Chennai.
