Delay in SEC appointment flayed

Puducherry: Secretary the Communist Party of India (CPI) N. Kalainathan has flayed the Government for the delay in finalising an incumbent for the post of State Election Commissioner (SEC). Mr. Kalainathan told newsmen here on Wednesday that the post was vacant now following the previous incumbent demitting office a few months ago.

The Government should set up a Finance Commission, as no such panel had been formed for some years. There should a speedy solution to the problem of striking anganwadi staff, he said.
