BSNL’s request to public

PUDUCHERRY: In the wake of reports of illegal telephone exchanges functioning in the territory, BSNL has requested the members of the public to pass on any tips to it on phone number 2227400. BSNL officials said a legally routed international call would display the code of the originating country. If it was routed through illegal exchanges, a local mobile phone number would be displayed. The public can alert BSNL if an international incoming call displays a local number or no number at all.
