UP drive against fake jail guards

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government has said it has identified over 70 fake prison guards working in various district jails. “In our drive against fake jail guards out of 73 people identified, four have been arrested by police so far,” Home Secretary Renuka Kumar told reporters.

She said attempts are on to nab the remaining ones. On inquiring a complaint, fake guards were detected in various jails. They had prepared transfer orders for joining and on verification these were found to be fake. Some of these guards had been working in prisons for over eight years.
