Special Correspondent
Thiruvananthapuram: BJP State president P.K. Krishnadas has demanded suspension of the Assembly session to enable Ministers and MLAs to lead relief work. In a statement here today, he said that people were dying due to fever and monsoon havoc in most of the districts in the State. The hospitals were full of fever patients. In the Malabar area, hundreds of people affected by torrential rains and floods have sought refuge in relief camps. There were widespread complaints that relief work was not taking place effectively. The situation warranted suspension of the session. He felt that the silence maintained by the Chief Minister and the Leader of the Opposition showed that they viewed the situation lightly.
