Anand’s musical tribute to Lord Venkateswara

Brings out a CD containing ten devotional songs


CD produced by Chennai-based Swaramadhuri Foundation

Singer urged to bring to light Annamayya’s unknown kirtans too

TIRUPATI: Playback singer of yesteryear G. Anand has brought out an audio compact disc containing ten devotional songs on the glory of Lord Venkateswara.

At a simple function here on Wednesday, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy released the CD and handed over the first copy to TTD Executive Officer K.V. Ramanachary.

The CD was produced by Chennai-based Swaramadhuri Foundation, which contains melodious songs like ‘Kaliyuga Varaduni’, ‘Maa Inti Devudu’, ‘Entha Madhuram’, ‘Kanugonti’, ‘Tirumala Nilaya’, ‘Yedukondala’, ‘Namo Namo Sri Venkatesa’, ‘Madhuram Madhuram’, ‘Venkateswaruni leelalu’ and ‘Sri Srinivasam Namami’.

Appeal to the singer

The songs were sung by Mr. Anand himself and upcoming artistes like Gopika Poornima, Shravya, Srivardhini, Madhu and Saketh. Mr. Reddy lauded Mr. Anand for bringing out the album. saying it would take music lovers to a different celestial world. He also appealed to the singer to decipher Annamayya’s hitherto unknown kirtans and bring them to light.

Mr. Ramanachary requested Mr. Anand to continue his service to spread ‘Venkateswara Tattvam’, philosophy of the Lord of Seven Hills.
