EC upheld our view: Sushma

NEW DELHI: National Democratic Alliance-supported candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat’s spokesperson Sushma Swaraj said on Wednesday that the Election Commission (EC) had “upheld” their view and “disapproved” of the decision of the United National Progressive Alliance, the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Trinamool Congress to abstain from voting in the Presidential election.

According to her, if any party abstained, it would be tantamount to issuing a whip and bringing “undue influence” which could be challenged and the results held void.
