Hat-trick by Edwin

NEW DELHI: Edwin scored four goals, including a hat-trick, as the defending champion Indian Air Force, New Delhi, defeated Garhwal Diamond 6-0 in a group A league match in the 3rd Uttaranchal Cup football tournament at the Air Force Ground, Race Course road, here on Wednesday.

Edwin struck in the 27th, 35th, 37th and 39th minutes after outside-right G. S. Sandhu (16th) had opened the scoring. Sandhu then completed the tally striking the goal in the 43rd minute of the match.

In the other match of the day, Youngmen SC and Uttaranchal Heroes played out a goalless draw in the group D league. — Principal Correspondent
